The main character in my book is Virginia Shreves. She is a static character mostly because she has low self esteem and doesn't make
an effort to change at all. Virginia is round character (literally). Which
means that is very believable and has a real life situations. Some characteristics
that she has are sarcasm, intelligence and has a creative mind. Throughout the
book Virginia makes sarcasm remarks towards her peers, teachers and even her parents. What I mean by intelligence, is that she is very smart as far as looking at life. But sometimes she gets confused by her decisions. Her creativity is a gift that she doesn't really use for some reason. Besides all of that, she is a pretty cool character.

Conflict Of my Book
So far in the book "The Earth, My Butt, and Other Big Round Things",
the conflict is person vs. self. The problem is with the main character Virginia, who has issues with her body type. She calls it being "fat" and follows the "Fat Girl Code of Conduct"; which she made up. For right now, her and her "guy friend" are having issues about each others bodies. This is a person vs. person conflict. I predict that they might need to make some serious decision's.

Quarter Book Project
The book I chose to read for the quarter book project, is "The Earth My Butt And Other Big Round Things". The author of the book is Carolyn Mackler. I chose to read this book because I read the short introduction and it seemed interesting. I also chose it because I felt like it would be enjoyable. Some ideas I have about the book is that it should grab my attention, also that the book will have a moral to the story because the book seems to be more like a real life situation.

The value of reading
Reading is a worthwhile activity. Three reasons are for education, for fun and to pass by time. First education, reading will improve your reading skills. If you read for an assignment for school, you may find out that you like the book and it improves your vocabulary skills. Next, you can read for fun. My elaboration for this, is that you may actually enjoy reading an interesting book. Then you will always want to raed after that. Last, to pass time by. After reading you will figure out that it was all worth while.
